hotel supply management In the Hospitality Industry, impressions are everything. Guest reviews can make or break hotels. With the internet revolution, guests can now share their thoughts on public websites visible to millions.

More often than not, dissatisfied guests who feel like they did not get their money’s worth will not hesitate to rant about their horrible experience. In an industry where opinions matter, there is greater pressure on supply chains to deliver cost-effective quality solutions.

Learn About Procurement Outsourcing Problems And Why You Don't Want Them

Great guest accommodations rely on the whole package to wow guests. Offering them products and services that gives them comfort and peace of mind away from home is key. Hotels must not only be visually appealing, but also be satisfying to the rest of the senses. Every detail matters -- from the draperies, sheets, pillows, and toiletries; to the fragrance, cleanliness, and ambience of the room.

One of the most important factors that contribute to the satisfaction of guests are toiletries. Your guests do not want to worry about packing toiletries on their trip, especially with the recent tedious airport regulations that have specific restriction on liquids. In fact, a quick scan of reviews on hotels show that most complaints spring from the poor quality and lack of toiletries.

Another important factor is the quality of bedding and sheets. Beds are the heart of hotels. Mattresses, sheets, blankets, and pillows should be comfortable and coordinated. They should be pleasing to the eyes and friendly to the bones. Most guests will come in to their rooms after traveling, or attending events and activities and will dive onto the bed expecting cozy comfort. Make sure that your beds are made and that the bedding and pillows are clean. It’s best to replace dated beddings, as the guests will not be pleased looking at faded and unraveling sheets and pillows.

Cleanliness is also a major factor. Make sure you use scents and cleaning materials that are not harmful to your guests. It is necessary for your hotel to be fully stocked in cleaning materials for day to day use. Switching to eco-friendly cleaning items can also boost your social image. You can let your guests know that you are committed to the environment. This may even be a deciding factor for individuals shopping for hotels.
